Oh no, you may be thinking, another M31... BUT this is a long nascent, lost data version - and - finally processed by me. So its a resurrection.. and I have to say, M31 is a very pretty neighbour. As astrophoto images go, its like enjoying a vanilla ice cream while driving your Honda Civic along a suburban side road. Everyone has done this at some point in their life.
Nonetheless I was happy to recover this data... lost for years. Happy, too, to have the chance to get my hands on this OSC data, absolutely!
This pretty galaxy was imaged with my first set of gear: 2600 mc camera, Stellarvue 70 mm f6 scope, and the ubiquitous EQ6 mount using an ASIair pro. The EQ6 is long gone (really good little mount) but I still have all the rest of my stuff. I have imaged M31 before, but had messed up the processing and getting only what appears to be a grayscale image.
The data was stacked in APP and processed in Pixinsight. Pixinsight processing is becoming - dare I say it - fun. Also I used Graxpert for the first time ever... very nice software.
